创作背景：歌曲由阿黛尔和保罗·埃普沃思共同创作于阿黛尔与前男友分手之后的一个下午。 阿黛尔称这首歌曲“是我对‘被告知自己的生活将会变得索然无味孤独垃圾，如果我不继续这段感情就会成为一个弱者’之后的反应。当时我感觉很侮辱，就写下了这首‘去你的’(fuck you)歌曲。”。歌曲的歌词讽刺了阿黛尔的前男友。
